Expiring of Contract. The Business Education Study Program will report this to the Faculty related to lecturers who will retire, then submit the requirement for replacement lecturers before retiring to the University through the Faculty in order to the lecturer and student ratio can be maintained or according to the standard that is 1:60 based on the Letter of the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education Number: 1010/BAN PT/LL/2020 dated April 1, 2020 regarding the Accreditation Extension Mechanism and refers to the Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture Number 5 Year 2020 on Accreditation of Study Programs and Higher Education. There is 1 lecturer already retired in June 2021 (has been removed from table 1). There are 4 lecturer of the Business Education Study Program, 2 lecturer will retire in 2023 and 2025 respectively.

Teaching Hours. Business Education Study Program follow the University policies as regulated in the UPI Chancellor’s Regulation Number: 7866/UN40/HK/2019 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of UPI Education in 2019. The education system at UPI is organized by implementing the semester credit system (SCS). In the SCS, things like the student study load, teaching workload, and program administrator load are stated in semester credit units (credits), which is the unit used to express the amount of student study load, the amount of recognition of the cumulative value of business success for a program and efforts to provide education for Higher Education. The semester is a unit of time equivalent to a minimum of 16 working weeks. Since the 1998/1999 academic year, UPI has implemented odd semester, even semester, and intermediate semester.

Education and Research. The lecturer workload calculation per semester credit unit (credits) is as follows.
1.a. for lectures, responses, or tutorials, 1 (one) face-to-face credit is equal to 50 (fifty) minutes per week per semester;
1.b. for seminars or other similar forms, 1 credit face-to-face equals 100 (one hundred) minutes per week per semester;
1.c. for practicum, field practice, research, community service, and / or other similar learning processes, 1 credit face-to-face equals 170 (one hundred and seventy) minutes.

The frequency of lectures in 1 semester is at least 16 meetings, including midterm and final semester exams. Each lecturer has a workload equivalent to 12 to 16 credits, for education, research, and community service, except for lecturers who get additional assignments. Each lecturer is required to carry out education as much as 8 to 15 credits, except for the lecturer who gets additional assignments.

Relationship between Learning and Research. Lecturers conduct research and community service either independently or through UPI and / or Ministry research grants, because this research not only fulfills the obligations of the three pillars of higher education, but can be used in updating learning materials / materials to improve the quality of the teaching and learning process. The Business Education Study Program through Annual Activity Plans and Budget annually facilitates lecturers to attend national and international seminars or conferences so that lecturers can blend in with other academic environments such as associations, open their insights, and disseminate the results of their research and community service.

Staff Development and Qualification. for lecturers in the Business Education Study Program refers to the career development program for the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) from the Government of the Republic of Indonesia for as much as 20 hours per year in accordance with ASN Law No.5 of 2014 and Regulation of the Chairman of LAN No. 10 of 2018 concerning Competency Development ASN. In addition, it also refers to UPI Chancellor’s Regulation No: 7739/UN40/HK/2015 Article 41 that lecturer career development is still carried out through training that refers to competency standards and is carried out gradually and in paragraph 2 article 43 regarding career paths including ranks and positions with ranks ranging from Class III/b Junior Administrator to Class IV/e Main Adviser as well as lecturer positions ranging from Expert Assistant Professor, Associate Professor to Professor. The lecturer development program in the Business Education Study Program is also carried out in several forms of activities including attending seminars, training, mentoring lecturers in the preparation of research proposals, and supporting studies. In 2020, 4 lecturers are currently taking the Doctoral program and in 2021, 1 lecturer taking the Doctoral program and 1 lecturers are proposing as Associate Professors. The lecturer development program is budgeted in the Business Education Study Program‘s RKAT. This activity is in line with UPI’s plan to control the number of UPI professors which must be 15 percent of the total UPI lecturers and efforts to achieve these targets by facilitating acceleration of professors and motivating lecturers to take a doctorate and conduct the research.

Part-time Lecturers. Currently, the Business Education Study Program does not have part-time lecturers. Lecturers in the Business Education Study Program are permanent lecturers and share resources with lecturers from other study programs within the Faculty and University.

Teaching Staff Professional Development. Business Education Study Program is also carried out through the Capacity Building program. This program is in the form of related training that supports the improvement of the competence of lecturers from competent speakers in their fields, such as trainer training for the program to become independent entrepreneurs in collaboration with USAID, the Mien R Uno Foundation and the Faculty. The Study Program also maintains a conducive academic culture in the form of education and academic discussions, both formal and informal. In addition, the Business Education Study Program also organizes micro learning training which can be used in the teaching and learning process, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic which is mostly done online. This is certainly in line with the University program which has developed SPOT or an Integrated Online Learning System (http://spot.upi.edu). Initially, UPI had long developed an online learning model using a Moodle-based LMS (Learning Management System), then the complexity of Moodle was simplified by developing SPOT (Integrated Online Learning System) which was integrated with SIAK (Academic and Student Information System) in 2014. With the model with this integration, every lecturer and student automatically becomes a SPOT user and documents learning activities from attendance to evaluation and is equipped with Android mode. This SPOT is UPI’s breakthrough to advance student achievement in academics. In line with the policies of the Ministry of Research and Technology with the 2018 Online Learning System Program (SPADA), which makes online learning a component of Higher Education Rankings, the implementation of online learning must be recognized by the Ministry of Research and Technology. In connection with this, the Academic Directorate’s Curriculum and Learning Division together with the ICT & Digital Learning Services Division of the ICT Directorate developed an Online Learning System (SPADA) with the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education Standards with the domain spada.upi.edu. In line with the Indonesian Education University’s online policy, the Academic Directorate’s Curriculum and Learning Division together with the ICT Service Division of the ICT Directorate will direct spada.upi.edu as a combination of SPOT and Moodle so that it is integrated with SIAK and SPADA Indonesia Ministry of Research and Technology. For now, in 2019 spada.upi.edu has not been automatically integrated with SIAK and applied to several courses with assignments or mandates.
